My elbow itches as it is covered in bights from some strange beast that ate at me all night. It rained so hard last night in the little town I was in that all the streets turned to rivers. I was on a bike with some friends and I had to ride the bike through a river at least a foot deep. As my pedal went down my feet would be submerged. A day later my shoes are still wet and I don´t think they will dry until I get home. All is well and I am amazed at all of the changes in the country some for good but some are not so good. It makes me feel grateful to have a loving family and have all the blessings that I do living where I do with what I have. I was in one home during the strongest part of the storm and as lightning struck I felt so insecure about my surroundings. Thunder shook the small home and the water was rising to the point that we all thought it would soon enter. Eduardo, the father, began shoveling and digging trying to keep the water from rising too much and flood the house, he worked with a smile and was happy to have a home to protect. I wish there was more equality in the world and I wish that everyone could reach their full potential without being held back by the suffocating grip of poverty.

Eli Skates!

Eli has picked up a new sport from his hero next door. He has
Liza

A couple of weeks ago Tyler was in Ogden and a man was trying to get rid of a dog. Tyler didn't want the dog to
go to someone crazy so he brought it home. The kids wanted her to have her own post so here it is. We don't know how old she is or what her name was but now she is named Liza. She sleeps with the kids and plays with them all day. She has grown really attached to them!

Luke's Mission
Luke is on his mission. He was called to Spain Barcelona, but had Visa problems and is serving in Baltimore Maryland. Luke hasn't sent any pictures but when he does we will post them. For now we will post some pictures of Luke and his friends before the mission. We miss Luke and it doesn't seem the same without him. Every Wednesday we wait around for his e-mails.

Cancun and Merida Mexico
Miriam and I went to Mexico in July. It was amazing to get away even though it was for a short time. We spent a couple of days with some friends in their hometown of Merida and then we went to Cancun. Neither of us had been and we loved it. We both got sick briefly, but that is part of the experience right? We spent a day in Cichen Itza one of the new wonders of the world. http://www.new7wonders.com/index.php?id=396
We laughed a lot and missed our kids a lot. I worked on my Spanish and realized how rusty I have gotten. I am counting the days to go back.

Fun Summer
This Summer has been a busy one. We have had a few
At Lagoon Eli was the master. He has reached the wonderful height in which he can go on roller coasters. He did them all, even the newest ride the wicked that almost killed Tyler! Eli got on and cried a little then we went. http://www.rcdb.com/ig3534.htm?picture=15 here is a picture of the Wicked. Leia struggled through anything that moved she is not yet a fan of the roller coaster.
As a family we have had so much fun this Summer and now it is winding down. Both Eli and Leia have started school again and they both enjoy it. Eli is in first grade and Leia is in pre-school.
